Uswitch — A new brand positioning from passive comparison to active switching

Searching for a better deal on your energy, broadband or mobile contract is pretty low on everyone’s priority list. Even if you know that it could save you money. For Uswitch, the UK’s leading switching site, we imagined a new positioning to move their customers beyond passive comparison and into active switching. We gave the brand an assertive leadership role in a category dominated by meerkats, opera singers and purple superheroes. And in turn gave their customers an empowering switching experience.

We repositioned the brand as the one place customers go to get more of what matters to them. We called it You, Powered”. An idea that doesn’t concentrate on process, but focuses on what customers get out of it. More customer benefit, less hassle. A switching experience, not a comparison site. The result? Total business transformation.

Everything in one place’ was more than just a promise of ease, simplicity and benefit for Uswitch customers: it was a new focus for the business. Our new vision catalysed business change – uniting siloed teams and creating joined-up experiences for customers across energy, broadband and mobile. Working closely with Uswitch leadership and the CEO, we used this cultural and systemic change to realise a new expression and action. We created a bold, strong U at the heart of Uswitch and built better experiences for everyone. 

No one knows Uswitch like the team who live and breathe it every day. So their product and brand teams worked out of the v3 studio, as we built the brand together. Mapping customer journeys, workshopping creative and testing the design system. All ensuring that the product platform was the truest experience of the brand we created as one united team.

The new brand changed our business model. We built smarter, more agile teams who collaborate openly to fulfil the idea of ‘You, powered.’

Collaborative doesn’t go far enough in explaining how v3 work. Working with them felt like an extension of our team. Our designers want to permanently move to their studio.
